- Reach out to multiple therapist and take your time searching
- See if they have experience or a speciality in what you need
- Check out their website and information they have posted
- During your first session ask any questions you may have
- Express what is important to you (if you have been to therapy before tell the therapist what you have
found that works well for you)
- Reflect after session and check in with yourself:
- Was I comfortable?
- Did I feel like it was or can be beneficial?
- Did I like the therapist?
- Remember the first 3 sessions are about getting to know you and determining if it is the best fit!
